Problem Statement

What did Highnote want to know? “Why are they not asking questions?” Who are “they?” Nurses and nursing school students. Knowing this we set our goals! We also found our target group.

Findings

Veteran nurses were over worked while newer nurses were afraid of making mistakes. So the problem:

How might we bridge fear of asking questions with the willingness of senior nurses

Research Goals

We want to understand how nurses get their answers. Comparison of nurses willing to ask questions.

Light idea

We offered a buddy system to be added to their app. That way they could have a friend that works their shift they could always rely on and whom they could help.

Coding Interviews

We had 6 interviews and many pages of coding. Coding is where you highlight themes or statements that stand out. Like have blue for grievances and pink for joy. There you can group up the color sections and find themes

Present findings to Highnote

In summary:

  • Junior nurses tend to have uncertainty when it comes to asking questions

  • Senior nurses Want to be a resource

  • Trust & Time

  • Buddy system
